Everything is growing like bonkers!

Some major pruning was in order to make room for the new growth,
this is the half that I didn't burn.

The chicks are growing super fast, they are almost fully feathered out now.
The Coop is in the design phase and so this is their home in the mean time.

Well here we are 3 weeks or so later. All the seeds we planted have sprouted and are on there way to becoming tasty.

This week we trimmed back the roses and raspberry bushes. I'm hoping to plant the rest of our seeds this weekend, then I'll have some pictures of the whole garden planted. This week
We'll be rigging up our irrigation system and such.

Seeds in the ground!

Last weekend we planted the first couple rows of the garden with . Alicia and I planted carrots, spinach, and chard on Saturday and Joshua, Beth, and Stone planted lettuce on Sunday. It snowed Sunday night a little, but I think the ground was warm enough to protect the seeds (we'll find out in a few more days). We still have lots of seeds and space, we'll be planting more late spring stuff in a couple weeks.

The chicks are getting bigger and more feathers. This week they have learned to perch/roost. Next we need to figure out the coop situation. So many options.

Chicks and mama's Birthday

We've got 10 baby chicks. We got them on 4/19/09.
We're inexperienced parents, but so far they're lookin healthy.

MAMA'S BIRTHDAY!

Today, we'll be celebrating the birth and beautiful life of my beloved mother, Janet. I'll add some more photos after the party.

Oh, and some pictures of our baby chicks.
